Moulton Museum's Latest Exhibit

Moulton Museum's Latest Exhibit
If you're exploring Laguna Hills, don’t miss the latest exhibition at the Moulton Museum, titled "1874: Into The West."

This immersive exhibit takes you back to the westward expansion of the United States, following the story of Lewis F. Moulton, who made the long journey from Boston to California, prior to marrying Nellie Gail.  Through a rich collection of artifacts, including items from the Wells Fargo Museum and family heirlooms, the exhibit highlights key historical innovations such as the Remington typewriter and the transformative Southern Pacific Railroad. This experience offers a deep dive into the history of California’s development and the Moulton family’s enduring legacy in the area. Perfect for history buffs and families alike, this exhibit connects the past with the present, celebrating the spirit of adventure that brought people to this beautiful part of California.

The Moulton Museum is more than just a place to learn—it’s a gateway to understanding the lives of pioneers who shaped the West. Since opening in the summer of 2022, the Moulton Museum provides rotating exhibits that feature Lewis F. Moulton’s ranching legacy, Nellie Gail Moulton’s artwork, daily life, business culture, and local history. The museum actively archives, restores and preserves Orange County historical artifacts from farm implements and buggies to documents, artwork and images of the period.
